Zenfolio | Forgotten Isle | Onchan Wesleyan Methodist Chapel

The chapel was built in 1868 as a chapel and schoolroom. In 1987 the church closed and was replaced with a new one built on the opposite side of the road.

The site had been empty, boarded up and secure for many years, but whilst driving past one day I noticed the door open and a board removed. The two kind builders let me in to take some photos. They informed me, the whole back room will be knocked down and only the main hall will remain and be converted into offices.

There was a very strange painting in the back room, not your usual graffiti, and not something you'd expect to have been painted whilst the church was in use...
