Ballacorkish Mines, also known as Rushen Mines sit on a hillside overlooking the village of Colby. Work at the mine is believed to have started in the eighteenth century and was abandoned before 1811, but then reopened in 1862. The mine mainly produced lead but also zinc and copper on a smaller scale.

Unfortunately I didn't get to explore fully because there was a heard of very unfriendly cows that didn't take too kindly to my dog.
